Description A series of standing stones near the rim of the crater
Caption This sculpture represents Ezra Orion's concept for public art on the rim of the canyon in his Desert Sculpture Park. He arranged for the project on the site of the former town dump, converting an embarrassment into a national treasure. He invited an impressive list of international sculptors to create what they wanted with mostly local stone. Twenty four years later another group of this time Israeli artists contributed more projects. The third wave involved adding sound sculptures.

Unfortunately the park has not been well maintained. At lease one sculpture is missing, although the label remains. Many of the other labels are missing so the sculptures are unidentified, and there is no visitor's guide available, even in the tourism office that is within walking distance.
